I have been watching lots of K-dramas like Weightlifting Fairy, Goblin, and Legend of the Blue Sea. I mostly watch during vacation like summer and also when I have nothing to do. But this blog is all about my favorite K-drama of all.

Reply 1988 revolves around the lives of a group of five friends in Ssangmun-dong, a small neighborhood in Seoul. Most of the series covers their struggles and memorable moments when they were 18 and 19 years old.

The series is a wonderful depiction of friendship, family, and first loves. It shows the ups, downs, and total 180s that Koreans in Seoul have experienced in the late ’80s and early ’90s. The five lifelong friends may be the official lead characters, but their moms, dads, and siblings are each like a bida in their own right, too.

Because of this K-Drama, I appreciate the Korean culture and their tradition more. It inspires me to visit the place and try foods and practices.
